Singapore, 28 May 2007 – Caldecott Productions International Pte Ltd has won a First Place Gold Camera and a Third Place Certificate of Creative Excellence in The U.S. International Film And Video Festival competition.
Voiceless Art, a film about three very different artists and their visions of Indonesian society, won First Place in the “Documentary-Arts” category. The Mud, a documentary about the unrelenting mudflow in Indonesia won the Certificate of Creative Excellence in the “Documentary-Environmental Issues and Concerns” category. Both documentaries are directed by Marcel Hartawan, filmed by Espri, written and produced by Ong Hee Yah.
Says Ong Hee Yah, Managing Director and Executive Producer, “The wins are very encouraging and an endorsement of the quality of our documentaries; we are delighted that they have been recognized for creative excellence. We believe that we have even more to offer to the international markets in terms of our Asian content and our style of delivery”.
The U.S. International Film And Video Festival was founded in 1967 and is one of the world's leading international events devoted exclusively to the recognition of outstanding Corporate, Documentary, Educational, Entertainment and Student productions.
The festival celebrated its 40th anniversary this year with winners from 23 countries. The festival’s screening of the winning works and awards ceremony is scheduled on June 2 at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles.
